A Game of Thrones
Hello Everyone I’m Angie;
I love medieval fantasy shows because of the dragons, and the magic, and did I mention the dragons?. I am also in love with Lena Headey
, I find her to be a very beautiful and talented actress, so when I discovered she was going to be in a new show called Game of Thrones I knew I’d have to check it out. Once I had begun watching I discovered that the show had dragons!!!! From that moment I was hooked on two levels and I knew that Game of Thrones was going to become one of my favorite shows!
The visual effects are amazing, check out this exclusive Prime focus video below:

Game of Thrones (also called: “GOT” for short) is based on “A Song of Ice and Fire” A seven book medieval-fantasy series written by George R.R. Martin. The series currently has 5 books written. “Game of Thrones” is the name of the first book as well as the name given to the Television adaption, the series was developed for TV by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. “GOT” aired one, ten episode season on HBO from April 17, 2011 through June 19, 2011. Season one had a budget of sixty million dollars, and it was so awesome that it was picked up for a second season after only one episode had aired! Another indicator of its epic awesomeness is that Game of Thrones main title sequence was honored by a win at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Season two returns in April of 2012!
So here is a basic rundown of the season one story arc, obviously I can’t mention every single character or every single event which transpired in one review, unless it was about 807 pages long (the length of the paperback version of Game of Thrones) *giggles* I will give a warning to anyone who may decide to watch for the first time after reading my overview that; like the books, the TV show includes sex, violence and lots of swearing. For my overview I only mention a few instances which are critical to the main storyline. The show itself should at least be rated TV17 it’s not a family friendly show.
Whitewalkers and the wall:
Let’s begin with the Night’s Watch, a group of men who pledge an oath of loyalty and allegiance to the Night’s Watch. They call it taking the black because they dress in in thick black fur coats. Their purpose is the wall. The wall is a ginormous grand canyonesque, 300 foot long wall of ice, which separates the seven united kingdoms of Westeros from the scary, inhuman, uncivilized beasties and evil things which live on the wrong side of it.
The Night’s Watch stand on top of the wall and keep watch, and they also travel through the deep snow into the forest to patrol and to keep trouble away. It is always very cold on the wall, and there is always lots of snow and lots of ice, which is a good thing because if it ever warmed up then their wall would melt.
The story begins with three men of the Nights Watch going on patrol and running into these very mean and creepy looking black shadowy things, which kill people and then take over their dead bodies so that they can kill more people. We learn later that they are called The white walkers, and they kill two of the night’s watch causing the third one to run away in terror. The white walkers have not been seen for thousands of years so this is the first clue that something is wrong in Westeros
Direwolves and Omens:
One day, Lord Eddard (Ned) Stark (Sean Bean) of Winterfell, the ruler of the northern kingdom of Westeros was on his way home with his sons Robb, (Richard Madden) and Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and his bastard son, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) when they discover a dead stag and a dead direwolf,. The stags horn is stuck in the direwolfs neck so we know that he killed the wolf and not the other way around. This is important because it is a bad omen. You see the Stark family uses the direwolf as their house sigil (think medieval mascot) while The Baratheons (Robert Baratheon is king of all 7 of the united kingdoms of Westeros) chose the stag as their sigil.
Crawling around inside the dead direwolf are five adorable direwolf puppies. Lord Stark wants to kill them because he likes killing things, who doesn’t? But Bran the youngest member of the expedition wants to keep them after being handed one and having it lick his face. Jon Snow points out the good omen signs of there being the same number of puppies as there are Stark children. This means that they were meant to have them, which causes Ned to agree to keeping them alive but only if his kids take care of them. This was very kind of Jon, because he had to say he was not a Stark, even though he was half of one, but then as they are on their way again Jon notices a small all white direpup, which he happily takes for his own.
Ravens:
In Westeros ravens are their volunteer postal workers and they are a very important part of this story because the story doesn’t really begin until a raven brings a message to Eddard Stark saying that Jon Arryn, King Robert’s second in command who is also known as the hand of the king was dead from a fever and that King Robert, (Mark Addy) his family and servants were making the long and arduous journey from their home in Kings Landing to Winterfell to visit. But Lord Stark knows the real reason is that Robert is going to ask him to take Jon Arryn’s place. He doesn’t want to leave his kingdom and his wife, Catelyn (Tully) Stark (Michelle Fairley) doesn’t want him to go either.
Once Robert arrives he does indeed ask Ned to be his hand, Ned may not have agreed but in the middle of the night another raven arrives this time the message is from Lysa Arryn, Jon Arryn’s wife, and Catelyn’s sister. She says she has fled the capitol because the Lannisters killed her husband and now she fears for the king’s safety.
Cersei Lannister, (Lena Headey) is Robert’s wife, Tywin Lannister, (Charles Dance) her father is very wealthy and powerful and has lent a lot of money to the king. Jaime Lannister, (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) Cersei’s twin brother, of whom she is very close lives in the palace with them and works for the king. Tyrion Lannister, (Peter Dinklage) also known as the imp, because he is a Little Person, lives there in the palace as well.
So Ned has three suspects for the possible murder of his mentor and good friend, this news twinges his sense of moral justice and he agrees to go to Kings Landing to surreptitiously investigate Jon Arryn’s death and to protect his other good friend the King.
Brann:
So since we are on the subject of sex at Winterfell ,Cersei and Jaime get a sudden longing and decide to do it upstairs in one of the many rooms at Winterfell. I did say they were very close. *grins* While they are exercising their lusts for one another, Bran Stark, is playing up on the roof. The roof is very high and very dangerous, but he’s a kid and nimble as an ape, so he never ever falls. Bran hears strange noises coming out of one of the windows. He peeks in, sees them doing the nasty, and they see him too. Cersei freaks out believing that her husband might be upset if he knew, Jaime is much calmer, but wanting to appease his sister and soothe her fears decides the best course of action would be to shove the kid out the window. So he does.
Bran does not die, but enters into a coma and if he ever awakes he will be most assuredly crippled. Cersei and Jaime are not really happy about this news, Jaime even suggests that it would be a mercy to kill Bran before he wakes up.
Lady Catelyn is most distraught, she is camping by the side of Brann’s bed, she isn’t eating or sleeping, and she refuses to take care of household responsibilities. Luckily since this is after Ned has left for Wintefell Robb is there to do these things for her. One time while Robb is visiting his mother and lecturing her on taking proper care of herself, Brans dire wolf, Summer begins howling because she is lonely and sad. Catelyn has locked her out of Brann’s room since the fall. Catelyn orders Robb to close the window which is when he discovers that the barn is on fire.
Robb orders Catelyn to stay there which is a huge surprise for the masked assassin who sneaks in with a knife and tries to kill Bran; Catelyn fights and struggles with him and he cuts her hands up pretty badly, I’m not certain who would have won here since they both seem about equal in their combat training, but then Summer takes advantage of the fire and sneaks inside. Sensing Bran was in danger she enthusiastically ripps the pitifull assassins throat out. Way to go Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The dire wolf is a champion killer. After killing the bad guy Summer jumps up on Bran’s bed and goes to sleep.
Sell a bride:
On Essos, a continent East of Westeros, Viserys Targaryen, (Harry Lloyd) a nasty icky young man with white blond hair arranges the marriage of his sister, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) to Khal Drogo, (Jason Momoa) the leader of 40, 000 Dothraki warriors. Viserys is selling his sister to Khal Drogo so that Drogo will give him warriors to sail back to Westeros to win back their kingdom. It was a Targaryen originally who united the seven kingdoms of Westeros, but then Jamie Lannister killed him, which resulted in a big ole war for who would be the new King. We know, of course that the honor went to Robert Baratheon, who made sure that every Targaryen was dead , all except for a young Viserys and a very young Daenerys who were rescued and smuggled out. Dany doesn’t want to marry Drogo but she is afraid of her abusive older brother and doesn’t know how to get out of it. She looks about sixteen on TV but is thirteen in the books.
During the wedding Daenerys receives many gifts most of them she doesn’t really care about but two of them become special to her, one is a beautiful white horse given to her by Khal Drogo and the other is a chest of real Dragons eggs. The eggs are thousands of years old and have turned to stone, but they become really important later on. You see, the Targaryens are part dragon, and their old castle where their family ruled is known as Dragonstone
Make him fly:
After the second attempt on Bran’s life Catelyn notices a blond hair by the place where he fell, this leads her to believe that a Lannister must have pushed him. She then decides that she has done all she can for Brann and leaves for Kings Landing so that she may share this news with Ned. She brings the pretty dagger used by the clumsy hit man as well.
Lord Peter Baelysh (Littlefinger) (Aiden Gillen) welcomes her in secret and offers her a private room in his brothel so that no one will know she is there. He also says that the dagger belonged to him until he lost it to pay a gambling debt to Tyrion Lannister . After Cat speaks to Ned she heads home, the journey is long so she stays at an inn an inn where coincidentally Tyrion is also staying. She notices that there are a lot of men here who may be loyal to her father, she asks all those who are to identify themselves and once they do she asks them to help her seize Tyrion because he tried to murder her son.
One of the men there is a sellsword by the name of Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and he volunteers to make the journey with them. Cat tells those in the inn that she is taking him home, but truly she takes him up to her sister, Lysa (Kate Dickie) who lives in the Eyrie. The Eyrie sits way up top a very very high cliff and is considered impenetrable.
Cat takes Tyrion to, Lysa to stand trial. He gets thrown into a prison cell with one locked wall and the other open on the edge of a very high mountain.
Tyrion bribes a guard to take a message to Lysa stating that he wishes to confess his crimes. He’s decided that it is high time to get out of that freaky skycell. Once he is brought before Lysa and her creepy son he begins to confess to a ton of sinful things he’s done that have nothing to do with what he was accused of. It is funny though. Once Lysa stops him he demands a trial, she says that’s fine because her son will judge it and very soon he will make him fly.
Tyrion then asks for a trial by combat wanting his brother Jaime to come fight for him but Lysa says he has to pick a champion to fight for him now. He asks if anyone will step up for him and Bronn the sellsword who helped capture him volunteers. Bronn wins even though Lysa accuses him of cheating cause he moved around when he fought rather than just standing there and letting himself be pierced through as is traditional. He also kicks the knight through the sky door which was opened for the fight making him fly down, down. down to the ground.
A crown for Viserys:
Daenerys is an unhappy bride for a while, but then her handmaid Irri, teaches her how to make love properly, and once she starts enjoying that she becomes happier and more settled. And as time passes she learns more of the language and the customs and the people begin treating her respectfully like a Khaleesi (Dothraki for Queen).
She discovers soon that she is pregnant and great prophecies are made for her baby, who is a boy, Dany is certain. She continues to grow throughout the season becoming more slightly more confident each day. One day her brother becomes enraged with her, attacking her and claiming that she has woke the dragon, a threat he has always made to her. Instead of whimpering and cowering this time, Dany strikes him in the head with this chain thingy and pushes him off of her. She even threatens him with serious bodily harm if ever touches her baby again. Well we all know Viserys is pretty stupid because he doesn’t listen.
So one day the Dothraki are having a celebration for Dany’s baby after she successfully ate an entire horse’s heart without upchucking. Viserys has become really, jealous of all the attention she is receiving and how well loved and accepted she has become. He is also tired of waiting to be made king. He tries to steal Dany’s dragon eggs because they are extremely valuable but Jorah Mormont catches him and stops him.
So then he wanders into the party and threatens his sister. He says that he sold Daenerys to Drogo but he has not gotten paid. He threatens either give me a crown now or I’m taking her away, but I will cut out your baby and leave it here for you.
Drogo responds that Viserys shall have a crown and then molten gold is poured onto his head burning him to death as he screams. I love how Daenerys stands and looks down at him in disgust and says, “he is not a dragon. Dragons do not burn.”
Lightbulb dawns:
Ned finally solves the mystery of why Jon Arryn was killed, but never discovers absolutely who did it, although my money is on Cersei. Ned discovers that Jon had been visiting and asking questions of all of Robert’s bastard children. He too meets with as many of them as he can find, one feature that they all share is Robert’s dark hair. Even with that major clue and the geneology book sitting on his desk it takes a comment from Sansa mentioning how she longs to birth Joffrey ‘s Jack Gleeson) children with long blond hair that it does dawn on him.
Once he figures this out he confronts Cersei alone while Robert is out hunting and says he knows that she is sleeping with Jaime and that her children all belong to him. She is quite and calm and does not deny it. She even admits that Bran saw them and that was why he fell. She is not ashamed and shows no fear when Ned tells her to take her children and leave Kings Landing before Robert comes home.
Poison Wine:
Ser Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) has been acting as Varys the spider’s (Conleth Hill) spy, by sending back messages on Daenerys. When Robert learns she is pregnant with a Dothraki child he demands that she and her baby be killed.
One day, Dany and Jorah and all the other Dothraki are shopping at a very large marketplace. A winseller tries to give her some very special wine when he discovers who she is, but Jorah after receiving a message from the spider saying that it is done returns to Daenerys and saves her life. He was told in the message that he had been pardoned for his crime of selling slaves, and that he could go home now, however, it looks as if he has chosen to stay with the Dothraki, Daenerys, especially of whom he is secretly in love.
They take the seller who tried to poison her back home and Drogo is so angry that he announces that he is going to overcome his fear of water and cross the ocean just so he can kill all of her enemies who dare try and hurt her, and so that he can give her back her dragonthrone.
Betrayal:
King Robert comes home from boar hunting with a grievous wound. He had been drinking an especially potent alcoholic beverage given to him by his Lannister gopher, and he loved it soooo much that he overindulged just a wee bit. This carelessness led him to become injured although he did manage to kill the boar anyway.
Ned chooses to not tell Robert what he has learned but he does something a tiny bit dishonest. When he is writing down Robert’s final instructions ,which makes him regent, he changes three words from “my son Joffrey” to “my rightful heir”
After Robert dies, Cersei does not hesitate to name herself regent, and Joffrey as king. Renly Baratheon, Robert’s younger brother asks for Ned’s help in kidnapping Joffrey and taking the throne for himself. Ned says no. Littlefinger suggests he do nothing and just enjoy being regent for a long time to come, but Ned believes in his heart that Stannis Baratheon, Robert’s older brother is the true heir, and so he writes a letter to him telling him so.
Ned also assuming he can trust Littlefinger asks him to get his goldcloaks to help unseat Cersei and Joffrey. Littlegfinger makes Ned believe that he will do as he asks, so when Joffey calls for a council meeting he arrives with his men expecting to win the conflict rather easily. He hands over Robert’s letter naming him regent. Cersei looks at it and then tears it up. It will take a lot more than a piece of paper to keep her off the throne.
Ned then announces that Joffrey is not Robert’s true heir. This upsets Joffrey a lot. Cersei tells Ned to bow the knee to Joffrey or be arrested, Joffrey wants everyone who isn’t on his side dead, and then Ned gets in the act by ordering the arrest of Cersei. There is a bit of a pause as Neds men prepare and Lannister men prepare and then gold cloaks start killing Ned’s men and Littlefinger sneaks up behind Ned and puts a knife to his throat. “I told you not to trust me.”
The killing doesn’t stop there as Lannisters spread throughout the castle killing anyone loyal to Lord Stark. Sansa is placed under house arrest, and Arya is found practicing her waterdancing with Syrio Forel. Syrio doesn’t let her go off with them and protects her killing all of them but one. Arya runs away and ends up living on the streets for a while as the gates to the city are locked and she can’t get out.
Ghosts:
Jon Snow has an uncle named Benjen (Ned Stark’s Brother) who is a member of the Night’s watch. Since Jon is Ned Stark’s bastard he knows that he will never rule or be allowed to do anything important so he thinks it would be best to join the Nights Watch and become a ranger, a job which he thinks would be exciting. Benjen tries to talk him out of it warning that it’s not what he thinks it is, but Jon will not be discouraged and when he brings it up with Ned, Lord Stark agrees it is probably for the best.
So Jon heads up to the Nights watch. He is a good fighter and has no trouble in bootcamp except that he doesn’t like the other guys who he looks down on because they are criminals and low born peasant types and none of them can really fight.
Tyrion Lannister who came along for fun reminds him that none of them had the privilege of being taught proper swordsmanship from childhood. After this he starts being nicer to them and giving them tips and pointers. Then they all become friends and he starts to forget how cold and lonely he is out here.
Jon graduates from boot camp and is made Lord Commander Mormonts personal steward. He is angry at first because he really wanted to be a ranger, but then his friend Sam points out that he is being groomed for command.
After Jon Snow hears that his father has been captured by the Lannisters and that his brother Robb has gone off to war, he becomes quite upset. He wants to run away and join Robb in the fight, but he made an oath to the Nights Watch to forsake his past. He does temporarily run away but his friends go after him and bring him back.
When the letter arrives calling his father a traitor the mean instructor who has always had it in for Jon mocks him causing Jon to attack him, this gets him confined to his quarters, but while he is busy sulking in his quarters over general unfairness of life Ghost, his direwolf starts making noises like someone is outside.
Jon takes her outside to investigate and Ghost leads him up to Commander Mormont’s quarters where he discovers Other, a nightwatchman whose dead body they had discovered along with one other in the woods (Ghost had brought Jon a hand fueling the search). Other is all pasty white, creepy, and bent on tearing Jon to pieces.
Jon fights pretty hard with him for a while before finally burning the dude, which seems to actually kill him. It’s always harder to kill someone the second time around. Commander Mormont is very grateful to Jon for saving his life and gives him a sword as a thank you present.
Drogo:
As the Dathraki are happily pillaging a village Daenerys is troubled when she witnesses the warriors group raping large groups of women. She orders the warriors to stop and claims them all as her personal slaves.
One of them becomes angry and confronts Khal Drogo about it, he listens to both sides calmly and then sides with his Khaleesi., this infuriates the dothraki so much that he challenges Drogo for his position as Khal. Drogo kills him quite easily but he has a very nasty scratch on his chest when they are through. Dany is worried so she asks if there is a doctor in the camp. It turns out that one of the women she rescued is a witch doctor who used to heal people magically in her temple all the time. She promises to help and treats him promptly after Dany has to beg Drogo to allow her to treat him.
Drogo’s wound does not get better and instead becomes infected causing him to fall from his horse while riding. According to Dothraki tradition if a Khal cannot ride he cannot be Khal. Daenerys desperately tries to retain control of the khallasar claiming that Drogo is simply resting and that they will spend the night there. She demands that the witch be brought to her and demands that she save his life.
The witch claims there is nothing to be done but make him comfortable. Dany pleads that there must be another way, and the witch reluctantly (but not really) says there is a magic ritual but it requires the taking of a life and she might not like the result. Dany is desperate enough to try anything so she says do it, and his horse is brought in to be slaughtered. Right after this she goes into labor.
Beheading:
Eddard is brought out of his dungeon and set on public display in the courtyard. He sees Arya watching from a very conspicuous and high place, in her defense the courtyard was crowded and she was short. I like to imagine that up till that moment in time Ned had determined that he would not sell out his integrity by proclaiming things that were not true, but laying his eyes on his youngest daughter brought to mind Varys’s the spider’s words and he chose to confess to the crimes of which he had been accused, and then to bite his tongue and declare that Joffrey was indeed the true heir, he did this believing that his girls lives would be safer.
Joffrey was pleased with Ned’s words, he remembered Sansa’s impassioned plea for mercy and his mother’s advice that Lord Stark would be better to them alive than dead, and then he ordered Ned’s head be removed anyway.
Yoren, the nights watch recruiter reaches Arya and prevents her looking while the dirty deed is done. He then tells her she is a boy and that he will smuggle her back home but she will have to pretend to be a boy on her way to the nights watch for a while. Sansa, who is not lucky enough to have someone come and rescue her faints.
Final battles:
So Robb is left alone at Winterfell once Catelyn leaves for Kings Landing, and then for the Eirie. He is aware of the suspicion on the Lannisters for hurting his brother, and I assume that he learns of the suspicious conection of Tyrion to the knife.
The Lannisters do not take kindly to their brother being kidnapped and begin burning Tully fields and Tully children. Tully is Catelyns maiden name. This causes Robb to choose that he must build up an army and go to war against the Lannisters. It is Tywin Lannister who is behind the Tully burning.
And then, Jaime Lannister kills a bunch of Stark men and one of his men badly injures Ned’s leg, so this is yet another reason to go to war with them. Cersei capturing Ned and putting him into prison for treason was just the icing on the cake.
Once Tyrion has won his freedom and Catelyn learns of Ned’s arrest and Robb’s army she leaves her sister to join her eldest son in battle. Before they can take their army into battle though they must cross the trident river. Walder Frey built a bridge over it and no one is allowed to cross without paying the toll. So basically he is a troll. Catelyn has known the elderly man all her life so she goes to talk with him alone and gets him to agree to their crossing, even gets him to donate men to their army. She simply has to make a few small concessions: take on one of his sons as a squire, marry Arya off to one of his sons, and Robb marries one of his daughters.
Toward the end of the season there are two important battles which are not actually shown. In the first one Robb sends part of his army to fight with Tywin Lannister. Tyrion is also there with his wild mountain people army, and they win. We see Tyrion calling his army into action, and then he gets bonked in the head. When he wakes up the battle is over, but at least they won.
The second battle involves Robb, the rest of his army and Jaime Lannister and his army. This time Robb wins and captures Jaime. He strings him up and brings him back to Mummy. It’s nice that each side got to win one and lose one. It creates symmetry. *giggles*
Sadly their victory is overshadowed by the news that Eddark Stark is dead. But then later Robb is crowned King in the north when his men decide that they don’t want to side with any of the other current king candidates.
Dragons:
The witch’s blood magic cost Daenerys the life of her stillborn son, and turned Khal Drogo into a zombie. Daenerys tries her best to love him back but he does not return and so she tearfully smothers him with a pillow. She then builds up a blazing inferno so that she may burn Drogo’s body, burn the witch alive for revenge, and so that she may at long last hatch her three baby dragon eggs. She follows her eggs into the fire and spends the night with them.
In the morning when Jorah and the freed slaves who chose to stay went looking to see, they discovered Daenerys alive, unburnt, the fire had touched only her clothes, and three adorable baby dragons climbing all over her.
This is such a cool awe-inspiring moment that everyone bows their knee in immediate surrender and devotion to her. I do hope and believe that when this game is over that Daenerys and her dragons will win it all. They are just too awesome to lose!
And that concludes my overview, thank you for reading, any feedback would be wonderful

Some History of Evelyn Diana Wright
Please note: This is a created Character, whom I created solely. She exists within the Warnerbrothers/ABC V universe, which was unfathomably cut short with only two seasons. But it still lives within our RPG community
(For those who have asked, it will be far easier for me just to write the ‘how she was discovered by Anna’ then have to tell everyone again and again. This is written differently to how I role play, this is more like first person perspective and takes place around episodes 2-3).
It seemed to be working well; I had joined the ranks at the Peace Ambassadors Head Quarters, in the recruitment department. Apparently I had a ‘soothing, persuasive voice’ according to Marcus. I took it as a compliment, as I was successfully pulling the wool over his eyes. Though I did not bargain on being in receipt of his ‘affections’ or whatever Lizards have; seeing they are emotionless beings. (That I will never understand, Mom had emotions, she was the most level headed, person, I had ever known. I could never understand why Anna would want to make her people emotionless). *Please note at this point of the story Evelyn thought her Mother had been killed*
I was gaining some information, though not of much importance. I was trying to access a Visitor consol, I can read the Visitor Language my Mom had taught me well. But I always found that Marcus was near me. I had often thought that I could use that against him. But Erica thought that was a bad idea. Not to mention how unimpressed Chad would be. He wasn’t at all happy that I had joined the PA’s in the first place; he thought it was better to leave well alone.
Today seemed the same as any other. But as it turned out it would be the beginning of my undoing. I was going about my business as usual, found it a little odd that there was so many visitor security agents, but it was always best not to question, I wasn’t in the business of drawing attention to myself.
But I found myself almost frozen, an icy feeling ran down the entirety of my spine.
I glanced up to see Anna’s cold eyes almost penetrating me. Her eyes were fixated on me like, a predator hunting, she was still as a statue. I almost forgot to breathe. I consciously took a deep breath, feeling light headed as I did. I smiled at the Visitor I was working with, and said: “If you would excuse me!” It was definitely a statement, he looked up uncertainly.
“Where are you going?” He asked.
“Bathroom” I replied chirpily, maybe a little too much, but I was only thinking of getting away from the situation. I head towards the door, but on my exit I chanced a look over my shoulder in Anna’s direction. She was bent close to Marcus, whispering. He nodded curtly, and then started towards me. I focused on getting out of the main door, I was just about to step through, I felt the breeze on my face, and a smile touched my lips, when I felt a strong grip on my left upper arm. That smile turned into a frown, I could tell immediately that it was Marcus who had restrained me.
As a hybrid, my sense of smell is more acute, I could ‘smell’ this was Marcus before I heard his voice.
“Evelyn , Anna wishes to meet you” He states.
I kept my eyes forward hoping to see a way out of this, I sighed slightly, there was nowhere to run.
“Uhm, that’s great, but I really have to go…” I try to leave.
“She insists” He says in his usual monotone.
“I can’t… I…” I thought of Beth, they didn’t know that I had a daughter, no one of importance did, I had hidden her well, Chad knew how could he not? He is Beth’s Father.
Marcus gripped my arm tighter. He smiled, what I supposed was supposed to be reassuring.
“You will be fine, I will be with you”
Yeah so reassuring… I look at him with defeated eyes.
“So what you’re saying is that I have no choice?” I asked in a quiet voice.
“No” He said simply, and led me back the way I had come. I was taken into Marcus’ office within the Peace Ambassadors head quarters.
Anna was there waiting, with a Medic. She nodded to the medic, he nodded once in return; he gave me a sideways glance as he left the room and closed the door. It was at that point that Marcus let me free from his grip, though it seemed a reluctant action.
Anna then began to take slow purposeful steps towards me. I kept my eyes to the floor. Mom had warned me about Anna, she had told me that I was not to get involved. She had once said that she hated the Fifth Column, ‘Anyone who kills to make a point is a terrorist’. She also said that I should never get myself into a situation where I would come face to face with Anna, but then Mom had not factored in her murder when giving me these instructions.
Anna had stopped only a step away from me; I could feel her calculating stare on me again, though I did not look up to confirm this fact, I did not avert my gaze, the floor was far safer at this point.
“What is your name?” was her first sharp question.
“Evelyn Wright” I say, in a clear voice.
“Would you please look at me” Anna commanded.
I reluctantly look up focusing on her chin, avoiding her eyes.
“It seems you have issues with eye contact my dear” Anna stated, then took my chin firmly in her right hand, forcing me to look her in the eye. I audibly gasped at her touch, there was a numbing/burning sensation resonating from the point of contact, it was strange and so similar to my Mother’s touch. Even Anna’s scent was reminiscent to Mom’s. ‘Why the hell is she reminding me of my Mom’ I ask myself, though it was becoming more and more difficult to think.
The thing that was more shocking is that Anna gasped at the exact moment as I did, she let go of me almost immediately. She had turned to Marcus.
“Leave us” She commanded, then said something in their native tongue; I could only make out a snatched word as I was feeling rather lightheaded. Test; ‘Test?’ what did that mean?’ I didn’t get a chance to think on it any longer as Anna started to question me as soon as Marcus had left the room.
“Who are you?” She asked I could see her cold eyes boring through me this time.
“Evelyn ‘Diana’ Wright” I said slowly, almost sarcastically, not sure why I had taken that tone.
Anna’s eyes narrowed as I said my middle name. But I chose to ignore that.
“I am aware of your name ‘dear’, you already shared that with me, ‘who’ are you? Why do you seem so familiar to me?” She asked, seeming impatient now.
“I don’t know” I mumbled, which was true, I was as confused as she was.
It was at that point that the medic had entered the room, he approached Anna’s side.
“It would seem, from initial scans that your Sister survived, and Mated with a Human, by all accounts this child is your niece. She is Hybrid. Though I would need her to come to the Mothership to confirm this for one hundred percent” He stated. His dark ‘human’ eyes met mine for a moment, he seemed saddened, but he recovered quickly, the emotion that flickered behind his eyes was gone in an instant. His words took a few moments to register…
“Sister?” Both Anna and I said at the exact time. Her voice was measured and emotionless; mine was somewhat high pitched, and very obviously shocked. I looked to Anna. My world was falling apart at the seams, why the hell hadn’t Mom told me this?
“Mom was your sister?” I asked, stunned.
“It would seem that we are both surprised with this news” Anna said calmly.
“Yeah…” I say, my voice was barely a whisper.
“You will accompany me to the Mothership, Immediately” Anna stated.
I looked up. This is not what I wanted, nor needed.
“Do I have a choice?” I ask, knowing the answer.
“I believe that you are smarter than that that. No Evelyn you do not have a choice” She confirmed.
I stood motionless for a moment, I carefully looked around. I was only a few steps from the door. I took one of those snap decisions that I usually wound up regretting, and I bolted. Marcus looked at me as I opened the door, I smiled then ran towards the exit, Anna obviously told him to go after me, he was so quick; he had caught up with me in mere seconds. He grabbed the top of my arm and yanked me nearly off my feet, he span me around to face him then I felt his firm grip on my other upper arm.
“What are you doing?” He growled at me
“Please let me go, I have to go…” I was beginning to panic now, I was worried for Beth. I suppose that was translating well on my face, judging by Marcus’ reaction.
“What is wrong Evelyn?”
“How many times do I have to tell you I’m Evie? Nothing’s wrong… Nothing you need to know” I snapped
Marcus gripped my arms harder, and pulled me closer “Do not talk in that tone to me, Evie,” He sneered, he then sniffed my neck, I am pretty sure I physically shuddered… but then something different, his scent did something to me… I smelt him, breathing him in deeply. I noticed almost burning sensations where he gripped my upper arms. I looked into his eyes, I am positive I saw a flicker of emotion behind his emotionless exterior. His mannerisms changed, he leaned in close and whispered “I can protect you; you need to trust me as your Mother once did”
I stared at him, and then smiled slightly… “You are the one Mom spoke of, her friend who helped her escape Anna?” I said under my breath so only he could hear.
“Yes, that is correct” He answered in a barely audible monotone.
“What do you suggest?” I asked
“I will claim you as my mate, that way I can protect you…”
“Mate??” I interrupted a bit too loudly.
“Evelyn, stop and listen” He snapped.
“I am in a relationship right now…” I admit, though that had been a secret. Chad wanted to keep me safe, well so he said. I often wondered if it was more to do with the fact that I was only sixteen when we conceived Beth, which was of course perfectly legal in the United Kingdom.
“With whom?” He gripped my arms tighter
“What does it matter to you?” I said trying to struggle away
“Because you are Visitor…” Marcus interjects
“I am half Human, more Human, This isn’t a…” I leaned in closer at that point “bio skin” I whispered next to his ear”
To say Marcus looked shocked was an understatement, he looked almost disgusted, so I glared at him, the ‘weird reaction’ I had moments ago disappeared instantly.
“What?” I say with an edge of sarcasm.
“How can that be? You were born of Royalty… Only Royal females can breed Evelyn… This alone will help secure your safety with Anna, only as my mate can I guarantee your safety” He tells me.
“But, I don’t think my partner will take kindly to that” I point out the big issue with his plan. Chad would not be happy about this.
Just as I uttered those words, I see Chad round the corner, he looks on the defensive, I shake my head slightly at him, he understood right away.
“Marcus, is everything ok here?” He asks, Marcus looks at him, Chad holds my stare, so I mouth the word ‘Beth’ he nodded, I knew she would be safe now.
“Everything will be fine Mr Decker, Miss Wright is sick, we are taking her to the Mothership to help her become well again” Marcus tells Chad, as if he will believe that. I told him to go to Erica if there was any trouble. As Marcus lead me back to his office I mouthed ‘I love you’ to Chad, he just stood rooted to the spot looking glum.
Anna looked down on me, and dissed.
“Why did you run my dear, I will not harm you. You are my family” She brushed my cheek; I felt an odd sensation fill me, almost a buzzing in my mind, but soothing, euphoric almost. My legs lost the will to hold me, I fell to my knees. Anna pulled my chin up to look at her.
“And that answers that question” She said with a look at her Second in Command, I didn’t understand what was going on. I felt as if I was somewhere else, far away. Barely registering words.
“I can Bliss her, she is mine, and I intend to use her” Anna said.
The next instant, or so it seemed, I was in a strange place, bright, white. It pained my eyes. I guessed it was the Mothership, and this was their version of a hospital. Marcus was soon at my side.
“The tests confirmed that you are Anna’s Niece. We must keep you safe now, if this gets out, you will be a target” He said matter-of-factly. Little did we know that Anna had other plans for me…
To be continued…
